Join us for an afternoon with award-winning author and journalist Max McCoy as he shares stories from his nonfiction book Elevations: A Personal Exploration of the Arkansas River. The book traces his journey along the river from Colorado to the plains—exploring history, landscape, and culture along the way.
Admission: $10 Includes Museum entry and access to the author talk, or $7 for members who show their membership card at the museum, and payment must be made on the day of the event.

About the Author:
Max McCoy is the author of more than twenty books, including four official Indiana Jones novels for Lucasfilm and the novelization of Into the West for Steven Spielberg. He’s a longtime journalist, former journalism professor at Emporia State University, and a regular columnist for the Kansas Reflector.
Elevations won the National Outdoor Book Award for History/Biography and is based on Max’s sabbatical journey following the Arkansas River by foot, kayak, raft, and Jeep. His latest fiction novel is American Odyssey, and he’s currently writing a historical novel set in 1876.
